Network and data centres
A network of our own, in Europe.
Eight nodes across Europe serve your site from the point closest to your visitors. Your data stays in Europe and you can choose never to leave it.
Schematic map: node positions are approximate. The Mumbai node (in black) is a separate option, the «Global network».

How the node is chosen
The visitor goes to the right node, automatically.
Your data
Where they are and who sees them.
Sites live in Europe
Your site and backups are on servers in Europe, in France. We don't use American clouds.
EU nodes only, if you want
You can ask for your site to be served only from European Union nodes: the UK and India stay out.
FAQ
Network questions
What is a CDN and do I need to switch it on?
It's a network of nodes that serves pages and images from the point closest to the visitor. It's already included and switches on by itself when your domain points to us. See the Network page.
Does the site stay online during an attack?
The CDN and network defences absorb most attacks, and suspicious bots are challenged or blocked. Nobody can guarantee 100%: if you need more, Cloud has reserved resources.
Where is my data? And GDPR?
On servers in Europe, in France. You can also ask for your site to be served only from European Union nodes. Before launch we publish terms, privacy and a data processing agreement (DPA). See the Network page.
How do I connect a domain I already have?
The domain stays where it is: at your registrar you change the nameservers to the ones we give you (ns1, ns2, ns3). The SSL certificate activates by itself and the CDN starts serving your site.
My site shows an old version after changes: why?
It's the cache serving the previous copy. Clear the cache from the site panel and, if you use the CDN, that one too. If you still see the old version after a few minutes, write to us.
